Six Senses Zighy Bay: the rugged beauty of Oman
The Middle East's hidden jewel
Approximately 3 hours drive from Dubai, the Six Senses Zighy Bay is a tranquil resort located on Oman's Musandam Peninsula, set on a private stretch of sandy beach fringed with dramatic rocky mountains.
If driving, a 4x4 is recommended to tackle the stunning Omani terrain which encases Zighy Bay and is approximately 160 minutes drive from Dubai. It's a spectacular drive leaving Dubai's skycrapers, reaching baron desert and then stumbling across little pockets of Omani villages, which seem almost stuck in time. On arrival a tribe of curious goats which we had spotted at various points during the drive greeted us first, followed by a smiling concierge dressed in traditional Omani attire. With the sportscar valeted (again, 4x4 - highly recommended!) Zighy's resident driver expertly navigated the steep mountain voyage up, and then down to the resort.
Approaching Zighy is really something, it's almost like you a discovering a secret village paradise owing to the views that one is treated whilst nearing the enclave. Daredevils can opt to arrive in style via the only paraglide experience in the UAE and Oman - it would certainly have curbed our "I want to be there" impatience during the 12-or-so-minute descent.
"Accomodation" isn't really a term that one would opt for when describing the 82 luxury pool villas inspired old Omani villages. Mini-hotels within a hotel is almost on the mark. The resort is compromised of 1 and 2-bedroom pool villas and spa pool villas, 2-bedroom Zighy pool villas and spa pool villas, 2-bedroom Zighy pool villa suites, the 2-bedroom retreats and a 4-bedroom private reserve which, are all designed and furnished to reflect local Omani culture, and offer privacy and tranquility. Each villa comes with private-use bicycles, a personal butler service, 36 of them have front beach access and the private reserve comes complete with a 1,122 square meter oversized pool.
Attracting discerning visitors from across the globe, Zighy Bay has 2 main swimming pools, including the GCC's only salt-water pool, an award-winning mountain-top dining venue 293 meters above sea level, a renowned Six Senses Spa featuring nine treatment rooms, a juice bar and two Arabian hammams and copious leisure activities including diving, mountain trekking, biking, and guided off-road excursions.

What is the one product from the Margy's range that you can't live without?
The Margy's skincare range works with a beautiful synergy of ingredients, I love all the products, but I would have to say the basic milky cleanser.
What's the best thing you can do with your skin daily?
To use the basic milky cleasner morning and night to refresh the skin and prevent water loss.
What's the best thing you can do with your skin weekly?
After cleansing with basic milky cleanser, apply the extra rich firming mask - this will gently but effectively exfoliate the skin to slow the aging process and helps to maintain a smooth condition of your skin.
What's the the best thing you can do monthly?
A professional Margy's prestiage collagen facial is one of the best ways to take care of your skin and restore that youthful glow again. Not all facials are equal, but a Margy's prestiage collagen facial will provide the care and attention your skin needs.
What is the biggest mistake people make with their skin?
