Yoo Hotels has opened its first yoo2 property in Istanbul, a city combining ancient and modern worlds

The global design company 'Yoo' founded by international property entrepreneur John Hitchcox and acclaimed designer Philippe Starck launched its latest hotel last week, under the diffusion line of sorts – the 'yoo2' concept. Opening its doors to 59 rooms and suites centred in the heart of Istanbul, across from Gezi Park in Turkey, yoo2 Taksim Square is quite magnificent.

yoo2 is the more affordable of the two Yoo Hotel brands. This new venture is has a lower budget without sacrificing interiors and service, with Starck proving there has been no departure from impeccable design.

Guest rooms here are uncluttered and fresh, with dark hardwood floors, modern headboards and walls painted in shades of grey. Rooms start at a 'Classic Double' or 'Twin', each equipped with free WIFI and panoramic views of Istanbul's historical city, as well as the 'Corner Bosphorus' and the 'Bosphorus Deluxe' that overlook the deep blue water separating Europe and Asia.

The hotel proudly offers guests traditional Turkish and international cuisine such as Turkish coffees including the signature 'Istanbul 4 yoo2', which combines unusual ingredients of chestnut syrup and almond dragée.
