Christian Lacroix designs interiors for Paris hotel
Seeing the world through the designer's eyes
Following a soft launch in December, Hôtel du Continent's grand opening will take place next week in Paris. The three-star property has 25 rooms in three different sizes, each one decorated in prints and furniture from different continents around the globe, taking guests on an unforgettable journey... thanks to fashion designer, Christian Lacroix.
Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Oceania are all represented in each of the room's decor, "Far from any anthropological or strictly ethnic preoccupation, but rather with this fanciful distance known to ancient travelers who brought back with them not only scientific information but tales and dreams too," Christian Lacroix said.
The well-travelled couturier has worked with the hospitality industry before, when he helped design the interior of the Sofitel So Bangkok hotel in Thailand.
The Hôtel du Continent is located on Paris's Right Bank, near the prestigious Place Vendôme, and opens offically on February 3.
