Florence's fashionable Ferragamo-owned hotel
Welcome to la dolce vita
Located on the banks of the Arno, close to the Ponte Vecchio, is the new hotel Portrait Firenze — which is part of a small portfolio of boutique hotels, the Lungarno Collection – stablished by Leonardo Ferragamo, the youngest son of the fashion brand founder's six children.
The beautiful Italian hotel was designed by Florence-based Michele Bönan, who has also designed JK Place, one of the city's best boutique hotels.
Bönan has "drawn inspiration from the birth of Italian haute couture" in the 1950s for the interior design of the hotel's 34 suites and studios, using the finest quality upholstery and monochrome photographs of famed style icons as decoration. The elegant infusion of vintage pieces, such as bamboo chairs and lacquered Chinese screens provides an overall sense of grandeur with touches of modern simplicity.
Portrait Firenze promises to stand out among the best places to stay in the cultural city, with its 273 square km penthouse (which sleeps 10) and entry-level rooms at 40 square km an alluring element for its guests.
In addition to its unique design, the hotel's Lifestyle Team takes care of every guest's need – from arranging a private view at one of Florence's fashion ateliers to organising a visit to The Salvatore Ferragamo Museum.
