Dubai chalks up another record as the Burj Al Arab sets out on a hotel industry-first with a new private luxury extension. Buro 24/7 Middle East shares the exciting details...

Dubai's iconic luxury hotel, Burj Al Arab, is set to get bigger with the addition of a new outdoor space called North Deck. The expansive deck, which measures 10,000sqm and stretches out 100m into the open ocean, was made in Finland and is now enroute to Dubai via the sea. Once completed, the luxury deck will include F&B outlets, loungers and cabanas as well as two swimming pools, one fresh water and the other salt water.

"Dubai is renowned for providing exceptional experiences," said Robert Swade, Jumeirah Group's Chief Operating Officer. "This is the first time a structure of this nature and size has been built in one country and then transported to another country to be assembled and operated. We are really pushing the boundaries of innovation and demonstrating how committed we are to positioning Dubai as the most exciting destination in the world and Burj Al Arab Jumeirah as the finest provider of luxury experiences."

North Deck at Burj Al Arab is set to open before July 2016.
