Airbnb offer a nights stay aboard a KLM plane
After offering a nights stay at Ikea back in August, Airbnb are back with another quirky travel experience – to stay the night aboard a KLM aeroplane. The hotel-cum-plane is completely reworked and redesigned and situated in Amsterdam, featuring all of the luxurious amenities one would expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel.
Having previously crossed the globe 3675 times, the beautiful blue and white jet was given an ambitious makeover by Dutch design company Tank – who have revamped the interior to look and feel like a luxury loft.
On November 28, 29 or 30, Airbnb and KLM are offering the chance to spend the night inside this 'fly apartment'. To enter, all you have to do is tell them by November 20 why you would like to spend the night. The winners will be flown in to experience the once-in-a-lifetime stay from anywhere in the world. Where do we sign?
Located right beside the runway of Amsterdam's busy Schiphol airport, the detached airplane comes with all modern-day conveniences. Inside the bright 366m² plane, which has over 116 windows, there is a large living room, one master bedroom, two children's beds, two kitchens and eight small bathrooms. It comes with Wi-Fi, a toaster, a coffeemaker, comfortable first class chairs, a game console and a giant cockpit panorama window.
There are plenty of books and magazines via a dedicated library to enjoy and the experience offers 12 meters of leg space, allowing the lucky winners to watch other planes take off and land in the 'backyard'.
Movies more your thing? All time classics like Snakes on a Plane, The Aviator, Top Gun and Disney's Planes are all available on the home cinema system.
