When George Clooney married beautiful human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin last weekend, the world scrutinised many aspects of the highly publicised event. However the actual ceremony was seen and heard by just a select few in a private reception at a seven-star hotel in Venice, followed by a civil service the next day.
Overlooking the Grand Canal in San Polo, it's in one of the oldest parts of the city known for its beautiful palaces, churches and market.
