The majority of smartphone manufacturers have toyed wireless charging before, but not quite like this...

SunPartner Technologies have come up with a new way to wirelessly charge your phone using just a thin layer of crystal glass. The concept is called Wysips and it can be embedded into small screens such as watches, phones or tablets turning the screen into a solar panel. It is invisible from the outside of the phone as it is completely clear, but it starts to charge the battery the moment artificial or natural light is shining onto the phone's screen.

"Every time you get light, it will charge the phone a little bit," said Matthieu de Broca, Business Development & Strategic Alliances at SunPartner. "Over the course of a day you add a significant contribution - we're talking like 15 percent in a typical phone."

A piece of technology like this would save those nightmare power crashes, and furthermore as the solar cells improve, the amount of power generated will rise significantly.
