Conde Nast leads the way for this year's Webby nominations
Award ceremony set to take place May 19
The awards for the best in digital media will be held this year at Cipriani Wall Street in New York — giving the most nominations to Conde Nast with 15. Following close behind is Vice Media with 11 and The New York Times with 10 and Google, BBC and PBS each gaining nine.
In total, Condé Nast and its subdivision Condé Nast Entertainment reigned in a mix of 38 nominations and honourees across categories for a range of titles — the most in company history — while rivals Hearst received eight for a variety of ESPN, Oprah Winfrey and Esquire shows.
"This year's nominees really start to show the promise of a connected society where our social interactions help shape and enable so much of our daily life," said executive director of The Webby Awards, David-Michel Davies.
