Top 5: The best iPhone 6 rumours...

The Apple grapevine

Technology fanatics and simple smartphone users alike have been talking about the launch of the iPhone 6 for some time, and with that, there have been some rumours circulating...

Unfortunately one thing is true: Due to major production issues and technical difficulties, the full new iPhone 6 won't until some time next year.

In the meantime, however, Buro 24/7 runs down the most believable tales we've heard so far...

1. It has been said that the iPhone 6 was tested and will be made with a larger 1704 x 960 resolution screen which will allow for a sharper image. Just like with the transition to the iPhone 4′s new Retina display in 2010 and then to the iPhone 5′s taller screen in 2012, Apple is preparing major resolution changes for its new device that will require software changes by both Apple and developers.

2. Super size: Due to so much smartphone competition, it seems the new iPhone 6 will most likely come in two different sizes. First up is the 4.7 inch model, which is the direct replacement for the outgoing iPhone 5S. Next, is a larger 'phablet', the 5.5in model, which may also be called the 'iPhone Air' to avoid any confusion between models.

3.  A source in China apparently seems to shows off plant "leak" photos of an incredibly thin iPhone 6 device... Much thinner than the 5s model and therefore easier to break, wouldn't you think? Unless...

4.  ...This one is true? Another apparently "leaked" video has been uncovered showing a 'flexible' iPhone 6 Sapphire Crystal display screen - that would make for a more durable screen. The video shows the iPhone front display panel being put through its paces from various destruction tactics, and seems to hold up pretty well.

5.  Good to go: The iPhone 6 is is rumoured to be shipped and ready for its new owner with the iOS 8 operating system installed, as well as new fitness app Healthbook as standard. It would include activity and sleep tracking, and technologies utilising the iPhone's accelerometer - to detect movement and sleep cycles - already exist in the marketplace, so this could well be happening.
