Skully AR-1: The world's 'smartest' motorcycle helmet
With a rearview camera
The Skull AR-1 is a fierce-looking helmet, with an Android-powered lid which has a number of interesting elements, including a rear-facing camera that projects what's going on behind the driver onto the visor.
The camera equips riders to be able to pre-empt any upcoming hazards or change lanes without having to glance away from the road.
Apart from the wide-angle camera, GPS navigation is also projected onto the visor as well as the motorcycle's speed and driver's music and smartphone functions, which can be controlled by voice command.
Additionally, the helmet also has electrochromic e-tint feature, which allows riders to combat glaring sunlight by the press of a button, making the visor automatically darker.
"The AR-1 will introduce a new era in intelligent transportation by combining optics, intelligent vehicle systems and connectivity to deliver unprecedented levels of safety," stated Skully founder and CEO Marcus Weller.
With plans to ship in May 2015, the Skully AR-1 is being sold exclusively on Indiegogo for $1399.
