The best Google doodles of 2014
The top commemorative illustrations from this year
The famous doodle – the frequently changing Google logo which appears on the websites main page – has been changing for over 10 years, in order to pay homage to various holidays, historical days, important and interesting events. The first Google doodle began back in 1998, when Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin created a special doodle celebrating the Burning Man festival held in the Nevada desert.
The drawings have come a long way since then, progressing from small sketches to full-scale illustrations, animations, video and even interactive games. To date the web giant has created about two thousand doodles so far.
