Share, like, buy: Instagram tests new shopping feature

Mark your calendars for next week, Instagram is about to revolutionise the way we shop.

Social media platform Instagram has confirmed that it will be carrying out tests on a new shopping feature (the shopping feature we've all been waiting for). Starting next week, select iOS users in the US will have the ability to shop for products directly on the platform from brands including CoachMichael KorsTory BurchJ.CrewKate Spade New York, Hollister, JackThreads, Levi's Brand, Lulus, Macy's, MVMT Watches, Target, Warby Parker, Abercrombie & Fitch, BaubleBar, Chubbies and Shopbop. These brands will have the ability to tag up to five items in their posts, which come with a 'tap to view' button, allowing shoppers to see product information and price. From there, a quick swipe of the screen will show more detailed descriptions of the products. Then simply hit 'shop now' to be redirected to the retailer's e-commerce site to buy.
