Style.com has moved to Voguerunway.com
The changes have begun...
Style.com's 15-year archive of runway reviews has migrated to Voguerunway.com – marking the first of many changes for Condé Nast's digital platform, which is set to be transformed into an eCommerce project.
"In some ways [Style.com] duplicated and overlapped the vision of Vogue.com in the U.S., and it was decided that this was really a great brand name for what we want to do with e-commerce. Even if Style.com hadn't already existed it would be a great name," Jonathan Newhouse, chairman and chief executive of Condé Nast International, told Business of Fashion (BoF).
Earlier this week it was revealed that one of Style.com's most iconic fashion critics Tim Blanks is headed to BoF, "This is an age where transitions seem to be one of the driving social forces – this is my transition," Blanks told The New York Times.
"With Style.com coming to the end, it did feel very much like a chapter ending. It seemed like an appropriate moment to open another chapter." Blanks continued.
Style.com shared a statement on the new move, with Nicole Phelps writing: "For the Spring 2016 collections, Vogue Runway will have the same comprehensive coverage of the shows that Style.com did, only now with an expanded roster of reviewers. Beyond all of the "you are there" features, like live-stream videos, instant runway photos, and video reviews, expect to find expanded news content, as well as additional opinion pieces from Vogue Runway's top voices and in-depth coverage of fashion's behind-the-scenes players."
