Sony debut new 2015 SmartWatch 3

In sleek stainless steel

Sony ups its game in the SmartWatch arena with the release of the new stylish stainless steel version of the SmartWatch 3. Could this be a bid to outshine Apple's anticipated SmartWatch offering?

Sony's SmartWatch 3 is getting a fashion lift following the announcement that a stainless steel model will be released next month. The integrated smartwatch has, until now, only been available in silicone, but Sony, who have always placed heavy emphasis on design, have made steps to elevate the fashion credentials of its wearable, tech accessory. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 (CES) in Las Vegas.

Sony's android watch still features a 1.6-inch, 320 x 320 transflective LCD display and built-in GPS to help track running and fitness, has integrated native music playback and intelligent sensor technology.

Speculation is rife that this release has been strategically planned to compete with the release of the Apple Watch, which Apple CEO Tim Cooke has only stated vaguely will be brought to market in "early 2015".
