Google launches new voice command search function for app

'Ok Google'

Google has recently announced an upgrade to its Android voice search, following the latest update to the Google Search app, regardless of what app you’re in

The new addition to the widely used app will let Android users say 'OK Google' followed by a request wherever they are on the phone.

The touchless control is now paving it's away across Google's mobile and web services on Android screens. The homescreen will appear on Android 44 KitKat devices and anywhere on the Moto X  the voice-activated command  as well as the lock screen or when its charging.

Without having to navigate back to the search app to ask Google a question, the new functionality will work as long as you have the latest version of the app (3.5), and enabling it in the Google Settings app.
