Instagram announces a competition for the best short film
In partnership with TIFF
Instagram and the Toronto Film Festival have just announced a contest aptly titled the TIFFxInstagram Shorts Festival, to find the best short film for 2017. Speaking about the coveted competition, Piers Handling, Director and CEO of TIFF said: "TIFF remains committed to discovering and nurturing the talent of up-and-coming filmmakers. The TIFFxInstagram Shorts Festival presents a unique opportunity for TIFF to engage with emerging talent on a global scale. This year, we hope TIFFxInstagram encourages even more talent internationally to create and submit films, highlighting perspectives and experiences from around the world."

The competition is set to be judged by Isabelle Huppert, John C Jay, Karan Johar, Ashton Sanders and Director X. Entries are being accepted between now with voting set to start on August 9, 2017. To enter the Toronto Film Festival x Instagram competition simply upload a 60-second video to your account with the hashtag #TIFFxInstagram, and fill out a form on the website.
