Soon your clothes could do a lot more than just make you look good and keep you warm or comfortable, if Levi's and Google have anything to do with it. As the fashion brand and tech pioneer announce a new partnership to transform jeans, t-shirts, jumpers and more into wearable technology input devices...

Levi's teams up with technology giant – Google – to announce 'Project Jacquard', a mission to turn jeans, jackets, shirts and even underwear into wearable technology input devices.

The ambitious collaboration will see the two companies input functions available on smartwatches, such as the Apple Watch, and smart glasses directly into woven fabrics. According to the theory, conductive fibers, developed by Google through a Japanese firm, will be woven into virtually any type of woven textile, without so much as the modification of the loom.
