The four new Leica M 60, V-Lux, D-Lux and X typ cameras
Snap it up
It looks like the German giant is on a roll as it the camera manufacturer unveiled four new cameras in the past week, with styles that go from tiny and compact to a more sturdy and wide-lense look...
The M Edition 60
Celebrating the 60th anniversary of M rangefinder system this year, Leica has created a new limited edition Leica 60 model that pays homage to their tradition while looking towards the future. The camera makes use of just four basic functions; shutter speed, aperture, focusing and ISO sensitivity, but with a newly designed Summilux-M 25mm f/1.4 ASPH stainless steel lens.
The Leica M Edition 60 – which was designed in collaboration with Audi Design – also has an extra unique feature in that it excludes an LCD display, forcing the user to treat it more like a vintage film camera.
The Leica V-Lux Typ 114
Next up is Leica's latest addition to its V-Lux family, the Typ 114 – which is out this November – biggest feature is its 1" MOS sensor with a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit f/2-8-4.0/9.1-146 mm ASPH lens. The sleek camera also holds a 25-400 mm Optical Image Stabilization, a shutter system that can be used both manually and electronically, 4K video technology, and built-in NFC and WiFi compatibility.
Leica X Typ 113 & X-E Typ 102
Coming to Leica retailers later this month are the German company's latest additions to its X series: the X Typ 113 and X-E Typ 102. While the X already features a APS-C, CMOS image sensor with 16.5 MP with the iconic 35 mm equivalent Leica Summilux 23 mm/ f1.7 ASPH lens, the new X-E – which boasts the samespecifications as the X2 - comes prepared to shot with the brand's classic wide-angle reportage lens (a Leica Elmarit 35 mm/f2.8 ASPH design).
And so you don't confuse the two, the cameras both feature different exterior aesthetics with the X's leather-wrapped body contrasted by the X-E's cool combination of titanium and metallic silver.
Leica D-Lux Typ 109
Set to hit the camera scene this November, the D-Lux Typ 109 is Leica's newest member of its D-Lux line. The compact camera is equipped with a 12.8MP 4/3″ MOS sensor and fast Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9-34 mm f/1.7-2.8 lens with 4x zoom and 24-75mm equivalent. Additionally, the camera is also host to UHD 4K technology and MP4 video, and Optical Image Stabilization.
