Fendi's AW14 drones generate impressive feedback
Fashion forward thinking
Back in February this year, we reported on Fendi's impressive and innovative use of drones at its Autumn/Winter 14 catwalk show in Milan, offering the next step in fashion reportage.
After collaborating with Google, live-cam flying objects powered by Parrot hovered over the models on the runway, and the show was live-streamed on Fendi.com. The site allowed visitors to choose the “classic” view or the aerial shots captured by Drone Cam. "We are proud to have been the first to use this technology on the catwalk, which reinforces, once again, our pioneering approach toward the future.” Said Fendi CEO Pietro Beccari at the time, and now the results are in.
The initiative triggered more than 250,000 views and more than 5,000 articles, according to the company's figures released this week and Beccari, who has been intent on raising the brand's digital presence, has commented that the results are “impressive and unexpected in terms of views and coverage.”
