Facebook updates its search feature to compete with Google Plus
Sharing is caring
After users gave Facebook a variety of different feedback on the 'Graph Search beta' –launched last year – the online social networking service is adding the ability to search for keywords contained within posts, photos, articles and videos that were shared with them.
Facebook's 'Graph Search' still features the ability to search using phrases like "My friends that live in New York" and the 'Photos of my friends' tool. Now, searches can be personalised and unique to the user – only being able to see things that have been shared with you. The new search feature at Facebook aims help you tap into the experiences and different memories of your friends, with it rolling out onto the site this week.
Today's updates were also designed for mobile use – available on Facebook for iPhone in addition to desktop and if the update is a success, it could spell trouble for Google Plus, the search giant’s rival social network.
