Facebook Messenger payment feature revealed by Standford student

Friend-to-friend payment

On Saturday, Stanford University computer science student Audrew Aude revealed that he had found a new feature in Facebook Messenger, which he dug out with the developer tool Cycript

This week, a set of screenshots released by Andrew Aude unveiled that Facebook has been working on a clever payment system which works through the Facebook Messenger app.

From the images that Aude tweeted, it seems as though users will be able to add a debit card in Messenger and set an in-app pin number for security. They will then be able to easily send money to one another like sending a photo.

It's s still unclear whether or not Facebook will try and legitimise the service by taking a small fee or whether they will simply use it to attract more users for the site. However, Aude did mention that based on what he found on the feature it would cost roughly $0.40 to $0.50 per transaction – with a possible increase of up to $1.
