Facebook launches app to rival Snapchat
Akin to Snapchat, this new app allows uses to quickly share everyday moments via pictures and videos with various people at one, but there is one key different: friends won't be able to see your 'shot' until they 'sling' something back to you.
"We've enjoyed using Snapchat to send each other ephemeral messages and expect there to be a variety of apps that explore this new way of sharing," said the team behind design at Facebook. "With slingshot, we saw an opportunity to create something new and different: a space where you can share everyday moments with lots of people at once."
To get set up on Slingshot, users need to shoot a photo or video, add some text and colour, then boom, sling it to a plethora of friends and wait for a visual response.
The new app is available on iphone iOS 7 and Android and can be downloaded here.
