Online eCommerce giant eBay has sold its Enterprise business and separated from PayPal – leaving the company with only its marketplace business…

Digital giant eBay has been acquired for $925 million, selling its Enterprise business in a move to streamline ahead of its separation with PayPal.

PayPal will trade as its own separate business from July 20. eBay's Enterprise business was sold to a consortium led by the private equity firm Permira for $925 million, which according to WSJ is "less than half the $2.4 billion it paid for the division four years ago."

The deal leaves the eCommerce giant with only its marketplace business, with many newspapers pointing to a darker future for eBay this morning following these developments and the continual domination of Amazon and other new eCommerce startups.
