Dubai introduces world's first 3D-printed building
Forefront of innovation
Dubai has launched the world's first functional 3D-printed building. The Office of the Future, constructed in just 17 days, was unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Located on the grounds of the Emirates Towers, the building will now be the temporary home of the Dubai Future Foundation.
The emirate recently launched the Dubai 3D Printing Strategy whereby it aims to have 25 percent of its buildings built through 3D printing by 2030. Setting the precedent, the 250sqm Office of the Future was constructed using a unique cement mixture and its arc design was implemented to ensure safety and stability. In addition, the building also features energy saving measures to truly claim to be a building for the future.
