A 40th anniversary celebration

Editor: Buro 24/7

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of famed Japanese cartoon Hello Kitty, Beats by Dre have debuted a limited edition collection

Back in 1974 Hello Kitty – the cute little snow-coloured feline with the iconic red bow – made her first appearance on a coin purse. Fast forward forty years and Hello Kitty has really upped the ante – appearing on the coveted Beats by Dre earphones. Dr. Dre's, now Apple-owned empire is no stranger to a collaboration – recently unveiling a partnership with Givenchy's creative director Riccardo Tisci.

The new collaborative collection between Beats by Dre and Hello Kitty's Sanrio features Solo2 headphones and urBeats earphones and will be available to buy later this month.

The Hello Kitty Solo2 headphones are decorated with the signature red, white and blue design and are available for $250.
