According to reports, Apple will integrate London-based music recognition app Shazam into the iOS 8 when it is launched this summer

On June 2 at the electronic company's annual developer conference in San Francisco, Apple are planning to announce the incorporation of the song recognition app Shazam into their next iOS system - sources at Bloomberg suggest.

Shazam has been a popular smartphone app for many years now – allowing its users take a music sample of a song, which the app then analyses before providing the user with complete details including the artist and song name, in a matter of seconds.

Now the service is said to have been built into Apple's next operating system and is expected to be available in version 8 of the iOS software.

Sources close to the matter also say that the integration will be similar to Siri, as to simply ask what song is playing, rather than having to open up the app, with Apple set to be announcing the news at the Worldwide Developer Conference in early June.
