Apple tops best global brands report

With Google a close second

Interbrand has recently released its Best Global Brands rankings for 2014, with the list of 100 global firms topped by technology companies

Cupertino tech giant, Apple, sits at the top of the list holding a value of $118.9 billion, with Google right behind at a price of $107 billion. Among the heavy hitters IBM and Microsoft take the fourth and fifth slots in the rankings, while Samsung comes in at number seven.

Apart from firms operating in the technology sector, Coco-Cola still appears in third place, bumped down the list after Apple and Google triumphed over the iconic beverage empire's 13-year reign at the top of Interbrand's list last year. And, when it comes to fashion, Zara, Gucci, Hermès and Gap were also placed in the list.
