Dubai exclusive: Apple's CEO Tim Cook visits Middle East
Mall of the Emirates
Apple CEO Tim Cook made a surprise visit to Dubai's Mall of the Emirate's Apple store this weekend. The head of the technology giant walked into the store at Mall of the Emirates and met with staff and customers followed by an inevitable picture-taking session, which he shared on Twitter. Cook posted a picture of his visit to the emirates' first official Apple store, with the caption: "A quick visit with customers and our fantastic team at the Apple Store, Mall of the Emirates. Thanks Dubai!"
Cook had flown in to Dubai via India where he had met with the nation's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. This follows the recent news that Apple are revamping their stores worldwide to include new concepts. Expect new window displays, which change with the seasons, a dedicated technical support area amidst lush flora, a unique meeting point specifically for learning workshops and finally, a performance area with around-the-clock public Wi-Fi.
The new concept is featured in Apple's new store in San Francisco's Union Square and will then be introduced globally during 2016.
