The journey of your Amazon order could now begin before it even leaves the warehouse as the giant online store enlists the help of 15,000 robots to help with shipping demands this Christmas. Employed across ten of Amazon’s fulfilment centres, this futuristic solution is used to increase efficiency by bringing shelved items to employees who need to keep up with the relentless demand of seasonal shoppers.
The spending of $775 million on the Kiva Systems robot inventions seems like a good business investment but the company has come under fire for taking the electronic option at the cost of possible jobs.
