Sweden and H&M go green with Olympic uniforms

With the world watching the Rio Games, it's only appropriate to use the opportunity to send an environmental message and no one did it better than the Swedish delegates...

When fashion retailer H&M first released images of its stunning collection for the Swedish Olympics team, one of the main highlights was the manner in which it was created: a large percentage of the collection was made using sustainable materials including recycled paper.

Then, at the 2016 Olympic Games' grand opening ceremony in Rio, the Swedish contingent showcased another addition to its sustainable sports fashion collection, with flag bearer Therese Alshammar dressed in a blue sleeveless top and skirt combination that was also created from second-hand garments, most of which were collected through H&M's Garment Collection Initiative.
