Bruce Willis and Arnold Scwarzenegger joined James Franco, Scarlett Johanssen and Tom Hiddleston for last night's Super Bowl half time advertisements

From British film stars Tom Hiddleston and Sir Ben Kingsley's promotion of Jaguar, James Franco for the Ford Fusion Hybrid and Bruce Willis for Honda, to Scarlett Johanssen's questionable presentation for Soda Stream and David Beckham in his underwear for H&M, the Super Bowl XL VIII half time advertisements were nothing if not a variation of content.

Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs, Anna Paquin, Drake, and the Robertsons of Duck Dynasty featured in a star-studded, but unfortunately unmemorable, Time Warner Cable commercial, and Ellen DeGeneres had a living room party for the recently launched Beats Music. And perhaps most bizarrely, Arnold Schwarzenegger had a (very expensive looking) ping pong battle.

The cost of ad space has increased this year with a 30 second slot reportedly costing $4 million, up from $3.8 million in 2013. That's approximately $133,333 per second of airtime... And for a small fortune like that the advertising companies get creative, and the A-list certainly get involved.
