Top cyclists compete in the Dubai Tour
Boosting Dubai’s reputation as a cycling hub
Cycling enthusiasts from across the world kicked off Dubai Tour today - an exciting cycling competition ongoing until February 8, featuring top cyclists.
Organised by Dubai Sports Council in collaboration with RCS Sport, Dubai Tour offers cyclists from across the world a chance to compete against like-minded individuals while viewing some of Dubai's most noteworthy landmarks.
Dubai seems to be upping its game of late with a host of cycling initiatives across the city, signalling that cycling is becoming an increasingly popular sport.
Last year, the emirate welcomed the Dubai Cycling Course - a personal initiative by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
The introduction of the track was a welcome addition to the array of cycling facilities in the UAE that include Nad Al Sheba Cycling Path, Dubai Autodrome, Al Barsha Park, Mushrif Park, Jumeirah Open Beach Track and Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
PUMA are also in on the cycling buzz, with earlier reports on Buro 24/7 Middle East regarding PUMA's Fishtail Rides - that took place in Dubai offering a unique platform for people to come together and ride.
There's a range of other bike dedicated ventures in Dubai including The Cycle Hub; as well as stocking the latest bikes and accessories, it organises bike rides on a regular basis.
