Twitter priced its initial public offering at $26 a share late on Wednesday this week, a move that clears the way for the stock to start trading throughout the weekend.
Twitter ended up pricing its IPO above the range of $23-$25 a share that the company set earlier in the week. The announcement came via – what else? A company tweet.
"We have evaluated and put up for sale our shares," wrote the Twitter microblog on the site.
The company's founder Evan Williams holds of 12% of the shares and according to preliminary estimates, will soon become a billionaire, as the largest microblogging service expects to receive about $ 2billion from the move.
