One of the world's leading music streaming services – Spotify – have announced a new deal and partnership with High Street coffee shop giant Starbucks. The new agreement will see Spotify's services be made available through Starbucks outlets in the U.S, with plans for it to roll out to the UK and Canada in the near future.

Spotify will give Starbucks employees premium accounts for its service, enabling them to create bespoke playlists in-store. The playlists will then be available to all across the Spotify partnership, for what the two giants are calling: "A first-of-its-kind music ecosystem."

Starbucks chairman and CEO Howard Schultz said of the deal: "throughout its history, Starbucks has worked closely with the music industry, offering a variety of artists a platform for their work. By connecting Spotify's world-class streaming platform into our world-class store and digital ecosystem, we are reinventing the way our millions of global customers discover music."
