Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan first to ride the Dubai Tram

Attending the trial run together, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and HH Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, sat on the Dubai Tram, looking at their city as its first riders.
The new public transport system which travels the length of Dubai Marina to Umm Sequim is expected to carry approximately 27,000 riders a day, when it starts in November 2014, rising to 66,000 per day by 2020. Dubai Tram passengers will also be able to ride in gold class, with a dedicated carriage for women and children as well.
Tweeting about the experience Sheikh Hamdan wrote, "Today we witnessed the test run of the Dubai Tram. We hope it becomes a touristic icon of Dubai and the UAE."
