His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum's seven year plan for UAE
Earlier this week, marking the UAE's Golden Jubilee, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai, launched a UAE National Agenda for the country to tackle issues including Emiratisation, housing, healthcare and education, in the next seven years.
In a series of tweets, Sheikh Mohammed outlined the initiative, saying: "Our vision and ambitions haven't been satisfied yet despite our many achievements in the past years." Adding, "Seven years of hard work, rapid development and enormous projects with great challenges are ahead of us to realize our targets."
Emiratisation is high on the agenda and Sheikh Mohammed challenged the UAE's private sector to make significant improvements in the number of Emiratis that will be employed. He tweeted, "Government will take action in case the private sector falls short of fulfilling the Emiratisation resolution," without elaborating further.
Education is another key issue which The National Agenda will be trying to improve. Moving education toward smart learning and doubling government investments in kindergartens, the Dubai ruler said.
The seven-year initiative will also seek to improve housing, Sheikh Mohammed tweeted, "Another objective of the National Agenda is to reach global high rates in housing for youngsters. As such, submitted housing applications will be completed over a period of two years."
The health sector is also an issue raised in agenda, Sheikh Mohammed said that any non-accredited hospital would not be allowed to operate in the UAE after 2021.
For the coming seven years the UAE will try to achieve this bold vision, which Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has set for 2021.
