Qatar named most technology friendly country in the Middle East
Ranked 23rd globally in the annual survey
The latest technological survey put Qatar 23rd globally, one place ahead of the UAE in the vast list of 148 economies. The list was triumphed by Finland, followed by Singapore and Sweden.
The report displayed an alarming lack of progress in crossing the 'digital divide' between transpiring and developing nations and the world's networked economies.
For the third consecutive year, three GCC countries, Bahrain (29th place) Qatar and the UAE were ranked in the top 30 list globally.
The study also said Saudi Arabia (32) and Oman (40) have demonstrated "continued effort" to improve its country's ICT uptake but Kuwait seemed to fall behind in 72nd position, a drop of 10 places.
Jordan joined the list at 44th place with other countries in the Middle East including Tunisia (87), Egypt (91), Lebanon (97), Morocco (99), Algeria (129), Libya (138) and Yemen (140).
