Scheduled for May 29
Princess Beatrice's wedding is the latest event to be put on hold due to the coronavirus...

The coronavirus pandemic has caused several events to be put on hold or postponed including the CFDA Fashion Awards, the Met Gala, Coachella, Watches & Wonders and now, a royal event has been postponed.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have put their royal wedding plans for May 29 on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pair were set to marry at St James’s Palace in London, before Beatrice’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, decided to host a private reception in Buckingham Palace’s gardens.

“Princess Beatrice and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi are very much looking forward to getting married, but are equally aware of the need to avoid undertaking any unnecessary risks in the current circumstances,” the statement reads. “They are particularly conscious of government advice in relation to both the well-being of older family members and large gatherings of people. The couple will carefully consider government advice before deciding whether a private marriage might take place amongst a small group of family and friends.”

We’ll just have to wait and see if the couple could now host a private marriage with a ‘small group of family and friends’. Stay tuned!
