Abu Dhabi's Mushrif Central Park reopens its gates
Now home to 250 plant species
The formerly known Mushrif Park has undergone a huge redevelopment over the last two years and is finally ready to reopen as Mushrif Central Park. Abu Dhabi-based Al Ain Properties, who have been working on the revamp, have announced that the park will reopen with a weekend of community celebrations.
Additions to the park include Abu Dhabi's first outdoor amphitheatre, which can accommodate over 1000 people and a striking 'Shade House' with a beautiful indoor botanic garden holding several species of plants within a moisture controlled environment.
The new park also features an animal barn, which is operated in partnership with Emirates Park Zoo and will house 12 animals including a camel, a cow, a pony and a baby goat. The official opening on March 20 will include a range of family-friendly activities and workshops.
Al Ain Properties have done all they can to keep the park's history and heritage in tact by salvaging over 200 trees from the original park and replanting them in their exact positions. Providing a unique and recreational space these new additions add richness to Abu Dhabi's cultural scene.
