Addressing an audience in the country's capital, Michelle Obama highlights the importance of freedom and education of foreign languages

On Saturday, Michelle Obama stressed the importance of freedom of speech and the need for universal rights in China to an audience of students, teachers and parents at Peking University in Beijing. "Time and again, we have seen that countries are stronger and more prosperous when the voices and opinions of all their citizens can be heard." America's first lady is in China at the invitation of China's first lady Peng Liyaun. During her talk, Obama also highlighted the importance of study abroad programmes and the need to learn foreign languages.
