Melbourne is ranked most liveable city in the world
According to the Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Ranking, which is measured by considering 30 factors including safety, healthcare, educational resources, infrastructure and environment; Melbourne is the most liveable city in the world. 140 countries are included in the Global Liveability ranking and results have shown that since 2010 average liveability across the world has fallen by 1% with a 2.2% fall in the score for stability and safety.
The Australian city scored an impressive 97.5 out of a possible 100 with Vienna close behind with 97.4. Vancouver scored 97.3, Toronto 97.2 and Adelaide and Calgary 96.6. London and New York both placed in the mid-90s. The lowest scoring city was Damascus, Syria with a score of 29.3 due to political conflicts and terrorism.
