Revealed: Hunger Games zone to feature in Dubai theme park

Movie production company Lionsgate have revealed plans for a zone at Motiongate Dubai, the Hollywood-themed park that is set to open in Dubai at the end of 2016

Recently Lionsgate have announced its plans to partner with Dubai Parks and Resorts for the launch of the Lionsgate Zone, which will consist of theme park attractions and a retail facility that is said to be inspired by its successful blockbuster The Hunger Games. Other features will be a live stage show based on the two most recent films from the Step Up franchise.   

The greatly anticipated Motiongate Dubai is expected to attract over three million visitors per year and will cover over four million square feet. The plan is to offer visitors over 27 rides and attractions that reflect and encompass their favourite films. Dubai Parks and Resorts CEO Raed Al Nuaimi noted:

"We are thrilled to be working with a Hollywood studio whose creative resources, spirit of innovation and vision of the entertainment experience arse so closely aligned with our own. Lionsgate's Hunger Games, Step Up and other signature properties are the perfect centrepiece for one the most visionary new them parks in the world."

The theme park is set to open in October 2016
