Dubai to launch its first economy hotel brand
Complementing the Dubai Tourism Vision 2020
Emaar Properties and Meraas Holding, will start creating its first phase of hotels in prime locations in the city this year. The new brand, Dubai Inn, will offer "complete functionality, comfort and effortless service" and is said to be a "game changer" for the UAE city, according to a statement made by the companies on Tuesday.
Construction on the first property is set to start shortly in the Zabeel area, with its flagship project scheduled for completion in 2015.
Mohamed Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties, stated, "With more than 66.4 million passengers passing through the Dubai International Airports in 2013 and the number expected to cross over 100 million by 2020, Dubai must more than double its current hotel room capacity to meet the growing demand from business and leisure travellers. "
