After being blighted by a series of delays and management issues, the company heading up the Dubai Pearl says things are back in business

In line with Dubai's ambitious plans for the future, it has been reported by Arabian Business that work on the Dubai Pearl will restart in December, with the $6 billion project set to be completed "by 2018", according to the developer's chief executive.

Overlooking the Palm Jumeirah, the Pearl Dubai plans four towers based around a large central podium, which will include 1,490 apartments, seven five-star hotels, over 60 restaurants and a 1,600-seat theatre.

"Construction will begin in December 2014 and accelerate by March 2015," states Dubai Pearl FZ LLC chief executive Santhosh Joseph. He added that "delivery of the project will be by 2018."

Three hotel companies – Bellagio, MGM Grand (both part of MGM Resorts) and Baccarat – have already signed up to operate properties in the Dubai Pearl.
