Dubai as you have never seen it before thanks to Dubai 360
A sneak-peek at the Dubai 360 ahead of next week's launch
In a city that boasts some of the most spectacular examples of modern architecture in the world, there are no shortage of stunning vantage points to take in the cityscapes of Dubai, from roof top terraces, viewing decks above the clouds and desert roads that expose a stunning skyline from a far. It's a wonder that the dubai360.com website have found a new way to experience the sights of the city, but that is just what they have done...
The initiative is run by Dubai Film, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, couldn't hide his excitement for the projects as he announced the concept on his social media channels back in August 2014. The site is due to launch officially on January 19, and a new sneak-peek of some of the panoramas has been released to whet the appetite ahead of the official launch.
The images are achieved by the use of numerous cameras planted around the city, which take thousands of ultra wide angle pictures, the cameras employ the use of some the most advanced zoom capabilities ever seen.
The new video reveals a Google Earth-style facility that allows the user to navigate the city and select one of the numerous unique perspectives which include; a stunning time lapse video of Dubai International Airport titled Little Planet, rare explorations of interiors of the 'Royal Two' suite at the Burj Al Arab and 'The Bridge Suite' at Atlantis The Palm and even a unique perspective from a Dubai metro journey.
Some of the views are particularly packed with adrenaline, and true to Dubai-form one of the cameras charts the rise in a Skydive Dubai plane from its base at Zero Gravity to its birds-eye-view over Palm Jumeirah before the camera operator takes a leap from the plane. We are really looking forward to exploring this exciting initiative when in launches, to rediscover the celebrated city all over again.
