British icon Cilla Black OBE has passed away aged 72
The Blind Date legend and singer has sadly died
Spanish police have confirmed that TV legend, singer, entertainer and media personality Cilla Black OBE has sadly passed away at her home in Spain:
"I can confirm the death of British national Priscilla White, aged 72," the cause of death is still unconfirmed, but the police noted: "We are still awaiting autopsy results but everything at this stage is pointing towards her death being the result of natural causes."
Cilla began her career as a singer in the Sixties, and changed her name from 'Cilla White' to 'Cilla Black' after a Liverpool newspaper, Merseybeat, mistakenly referred to her 'Cilla Black' and it stuck.
Cilla Black was famous for presenting the iconic British TV show Blind Date, in the 1960s Black was championed as a singer by The Beatles, with her singles Anyone Who Had a Heart and You're My World both reaching number one.
