Mystery surrounds the sudden hoarding around Dubai's Burj Khalifa
A question mark lingers above the world's tallest building
This week an unexplained cage-like structure has appeared on top of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The purpose of the mysterious hoarding is currently unknown, but is believed to be linked with a major event that is being planned.
According to sources in the area, people have spotted a number of helicopters flying in the vicinity of the spire in the last few days.
The strongest proposed rumour so far is that the enigma on top of the Burj Khalifa, will involve Dubai-based British fitness coach Colin Philips, who last month completed a world record of 155 consecutive bungee jumps – admitting that he would also love to bungee jump from the top of the tower.
Standing at 828 metres tall, the Burj Khalifa, has hosted several adventurous stunts in the past, such as Tom Cruise filming thrilling scenes for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol as well as French specialist climber Alian Robert climbing the tower in around 6 hours.
