Solar-powered smart benches spread around Boston
Now there's a reason to take a seat
With solar power making its mark as the future of energy generation, it's no surprise that MIT Media Lab’s Soofa division have come up with a smart, solar-powered bench concept
The benches have been dispersed around the city of Boston, and provide the public with opportunities to charge their smart devices through a USB port, as well as checking surrounding air qualities and noise levels through built-in sensors.
The first solar-powered seats will be initially placed in Titus Sparrow Park, The Boston Common and the Rose Kennedy Greenway, and will be sponsored by Cisco Systems.
