The powerful and touching image...

A beautiful image from the 'Banksy' Instagram account that pays tribute to the victims of the Charlie Hebdo magazine office attack in Paris has gone viral. A simple yet powerful representation of strength and resilience...

A beautiful tribute from the ‘Banksy’ Instagram account, to those killed and wounded in the terror assault on the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris yesterday, has gone viral today. The poignant image is accompanied by a caption which simply reads “RIP.”

The depiction of three pencils in tact, broken and redoubled, from the day before, the day of, and the day after the incident, supports the notion of freedom of expression that was central to the ethos of the satirical magazine and speaks to the spirit of strength and perseverance that has been the world's unified reaction to this terrible tragedy.

The account, which has almost one million followers, has not been verified as belonging to Banksy himself, and it has emerged that the original artist of the image is fellow Brit, Lucille Clerc, and none-the-less shares in the liberal ideas of the politically expressive graffiti artist and we think it is quite brilliant...

RIP
